What is Needed to Apply for ETIAS?

The ETIAS application form will be available through a quick online process. Both the registration and online application should be completed in 10 minutes or less. Applicants from the visa-waiver countries will need to provide the following information for their application:

• Biometric passport
• Full name
• Date and place of birth
• Current residential address
• Email address
• Parental information
• Debit or credit card

Applicants may also be asked questions about past European travel, criminal history, drug use, or employment history. Should false or misleading information be provided during the ETIAS application process, an applicant’s entry into the Schengen Area could be denied.

Upon completion, submission, and approval of the ETIAS registration and application,the ETIAS travel authorization will be issued, and is valid for 3 consecutive years.

What are Fees & Payments Associated with ETIAS?

The ETIAS visa waiver does have a cost that must be paid to complete and submit the application. This fee costs €7 for applicants over 18 and will be free for applicants under the age of 18. It must be an electronic payment by debit, credit card, or other payment methods. Other various payment methods will be announced at a later date. Once the payment is received, the ETIAS application is automatically submitted and reviewed. Should your payment be unsuccessful or declined, the ETIAS application will be put on hold.

From mid-2025, British passport holders will be able to register before traveling to any of the ETIAS countries by completing the online ETIAS application form.

Because ETIAS is not a visa, document requirements are minimal. British applicants should have the following to hand before proceeding with their request:

• The user submits an online payment outside of their native country
• The payment is unusual compared to the current account pattern
• The user has a set limit, which needs to be changed
